In nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Objectives in line with development matters. Throughout the year we will follow all of the major festivals and celebrations in order to inform our planning but most importantly the themes and learning opportunities will be directed by the learning and interests that we observe from your children as they 'play'. In our nursery we always ask the children what they are learning rather than what are they 'playing'. To find out about our termly curriculum in more detail please follow the link to look at our curriculum maps. Please keep coming back to this page to find out what we have been doing. We will also post any useful information or links that may be of interest to you.
Please take a look below to see what we have been up to this week:
Friday 21st September 2018
This week the children have had lots of exciting learning opportunities. From potion making, to reading logos and even writing letters to the fairies! Each day this week the fairies have brought something new to help build their fairy garden and it is looking amazing!
I am very impressed in how well the children are in terms of following our rules, routines and expectations for so early on in the term. It is as though they have been here for much longer!
This week we held a fundraising event for 'Jeans for genes' and I would like to say thank you for your donations. Please remember that it is school photographs on Wednesday this upcoming week and also that on the Friday the whole school are celebrating the European day of languages and the children are allowed to come to school dressed in the colours of a flag. It would be nice if the children knew which flag that they were dressed as to be able to tell their friends. On this day we will be doing lots of different activities around the languages and cultures of Europe.
Please look at our gallery page by following the link below to see the photographs of all of the things the children have been doing and keep checking Marvellous Me, emails and the schools facebook page for messages and updates from school.
