In nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Objectives in line with development matters. Throughout the year we will follow all of the major festivals and celebrations in order to inform our planning but most importantly the themes and learning opportunities will be directed by the learning and interests that we observe from your children as they 'play'. In our nursery we always ask the children what they are learning rather than what are they 'playing'. To find out about our termly curriculum in more detail please follow the link to look at our curriculum maps. Please keep coming back to this page to find out what we have been doing. We will also post any useful information or links that may be of interest to you.

And here we are...the final term of the year with lots of fun and exciting opportunities ahead!! I hope that all the children are well rested and ready to build upon their learning and really challenge themselves. The nursery children that joined us for the Summer term are fully established within the setting and you'd think that they'd been with us all year.
There will be lots of things to fit into this term. We have a visit to Twycross Zoo, sports morning, transitions for those moving into reception, more parents events and we will be saying goodbye to our year six leavers at St James church at the end of the term! Plus we will have the lovely summer weather to do it all in.
We will be learning about zoo animals, the season of summer and towards the end of the school year we will learn about holidays and the beach in preparation for our beach themed day, weather permitting!! And this is as well as following the children's interests and learning needs.
Once again we are lucky enough to be having Mr Ashby on a Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon to support the children's physical abilities and he will be continuing to focus on core stability and taking turns and listening in team games. He will be taking the chldren outside for PE as much as possible . In class we will also be continuing with Dough Disco to strengthen the children's hands to improve pencil control.
